How to Prepare Your "Posting Notice" and Logo for the NAMLE website
http://www.namle.net/membership/organizational-members
Your first membership task as a new Organizational Member is to prepare your organization's "posting notice" for the NAMLE website. We request that you send it to us within 3-5 days after joining but the sooner you send it to us the faster we'll have it on the web!
NAMLE cannot be responsible for writing this notice because you know your organization much better than we do. The posting notice is like a 365-day "billboard" advertising your organization to anyone who visits the NAMLE website. Make the most of this opportunity!
- Consult the chart below for the maximum number of words for your notice and the number of hyperlinks that may be embedded.
- Craft your notice and embed appropriate hyperlinks. A hyperlink to your home page will already be at the beginning of your notice - it's a free link!
- Prepare a copy of your logo as a jpeg at a minimum 72 dpi.
- Send the notice and the attached logo via e-mail to: orgmemb@amlainfo.org
Tips for writing your notice:
- Visit the organizational posting pages to review what other organizations like yours have written about themselves.
- Identify the key selling points of your organization. Focus on what activities or projects you are doing related specifically to media literacy. Don't waste a lot of words telling your generic history.
- Send visitors to the most interesting sections of your website and explain what they will find there and how it might be useful to them.
- Speak directly to the viewer/user in short sentences with clear explanations. Let your enthusiasm show but be careful about congratulatory self-praise - it may ring false to the reader.
- COUNT YOUR WORDS. If your message goes over your word maximum it will be returned for editing.
